MIRAJ STUDIO

Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

This page explains what personal data Miraj Studio collects, why, and how you can control it.

1. Who This Policy Covers

This policy explains how Miraj Studio (https://mirajstudio.co.uk) collects, uses and stores personal data when you browse the site, contact us, or place an order.

2. What We Collect & Why

  • Order details — email address, delivery address, and the artwork/edition ordered. Collected to fulfil your order, process payment, and provide customer service. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you.
  • Abandoned checkout details — if you start checkout but don’t complete payment, we retain your email address, the artwork and edition selected, the cart value, the checkout timestamp, and the Stripe session reference and completion status. This lets us recover an incomplete order and helps with fraud prevention and customer service. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in order recovery and fraud prevention. We do not automatically add this email to any marketing list — see “Marketing” below.
  • Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card details. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you.
  • Contact form submissions — name, email and message content, used only to respond to your enquiry. Legal basis: legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, or consent where you’ve asked us to follow up.
  • Newsletter sign-up — if you subscribe, we hold your email address to send updates you’ve asked for. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Analytics & advertising cookies — with your consent, we use the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API to understand how visitors find and engage with the collection, and to measure advertising performance. Legal basis: consent, given via the cookie banner. See “Cookies & Tracking” below.

3. Marketing Consent Is Always Separate

Starting or abandoning a checkout never subscribes you to marketing emails or a newsletter. Checkout-recovery communication (if we introduce it) and general marketing consent are kept entirely separate, and each requires its own explicit opt-in.

4. Cookies & Tracking

Essential cookies keep the cart and checkout working and don’t require consent. With your consent (via the banner shown on the site), we also set marketing/advertising cookies for the Meta Pixel, which reports events like page views, product views, cart activity and purchases to Meta to help measure and improve advertising. You can change your cookie choice at any time using the “Cookie Preferences” link in the site footer. No advertising cookies are set before you give consent.

5. Who We Share Data With

  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Meta — advertising measurement (Pixel and Conversions API), only once you’ve given cookie consent for marketing.
  • Neon / Vercel — our database and hosting providers, who store order and checkout records on our behalf and do not use your data for their own purposes.

6. International Transfers

Some of the providers listed above (including Stripe and Meta) may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, they rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, as required under UK data protection law.

7. How Long We Keep Data

Order records are kept for as long as needed to meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations. Abandoned checkout records are kept for a limited period to allow order recovery, then deleted or anonymised. You can ask us to delete data we’re not legally required to retain — see “Your Rights” below.

8. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing (including marketing). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at studio@mirajstudio.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe your data has been mishandled.
